Device Switching

Barry lets you switch between audio output devices without digging through System Settings.

Quick Switch

The device switcher at the bottom of the Barry panel shows all available output devices. Click any device to switch to it instantly.

Supported Devices

Barry works with all macOS-recognized audio output devices:

  • Built-in speakers
  • Headphones (wired and Bluetooth)
  • External speakers
  • Audio interfaces
  • AirPlay devices

Sending one app somewhere else

Switching the output moves everything at once. To send a single app to a different device — a meeting to your headset while music stays on the speakers — see per-app routing.

Device settings

Each device has its own settings: headphone correction, how Barry drives its volume (hardware, DDC/CI for monitors, or a software gain), and its priority when several devices are connected.
